The Plan is Useless, But Planning is Everything
As a strategic planner some clients are surprised to hear me say this. What?... A planner that doesn't believe in plans! But it’s true. I don’t. I really don’t. Experience has come to teach me this lesson.
A paradox – seemingly.
General of the Army, Dwight D. Eisenhower, the man who orchestrated one of the most massive invasion in world history, has this to say about planning:
“In preparing for battle I have always found that plans are useless, but planning is indispensable.”
Now why would he say that?
