Background
Jacques Lirette’s 21 years of progressive experience in information technology has seen him pioneer ground-breaking e-solutions that have drawn national and international attention to his work. Now, as a partner in NuFocus Strategic Group, he brings his impressive experience plus that of his colleagues to his clients, creating customized solutions for their challenges.
During a 10-year stint as Chief Information Officer for the South East Regional Health Authority in Moncton, New Brunswick, Jacques delivered a six-year, $20 million project that included an $8 million infrastructure and $12 million implementation Hospital Information Systems from Meditech to more than 3,700 employees and physicians. In fact, this was the Beta site for the Client Server product and the first in the world. This included all financial, operational and clinical modules including an Electronic Medical Record.
He also directed and led a team that designed and delivered a provincial e-mail service to more than 15,000 healthcare workers province wide. The support and operation was delivered to the eight regional health authorities out of The Moncton Hospital Data Center. This project was delivered under budget and ahead of schedule. This was the first real shared application used by all regional health authorities in New Brunswick.
Jacques has a Bachelour of Business Administration degree with a major in Computer Science from Universite de Moncton, and is a life-long learner, taking additional courses in adult education, communications and human relations.
Two decades of Innovating with Technology
Jacques is known as a leader who can achieve results and deliver on commitments. In the last two decades, he has managed a team of more than 50 information technology professionals to deliver several large scale multidisciplinary and complex projects.
During his time as CIO at the South East Regional Health Care Authority in Moncton, he supported the information needs of 3,700 employees and 300 physicians. He was responsible for all aspects of information technology services. His team was successful in providing mission critical applications, a solid information technology infrastructure, support and change management services that users could depend on. He was also responsible for an annual operating budget of more than $6 million and annual project budget that varied between $500,000 to more than $2 million.
He worked two years as an independent consultant providing strategic planning and advice to public and private sector firms before joining NuFocus. He also has a major contract with Lexmark International providing leadership in marketing strategies, client strategic planning and consulting on product development.

His own personal experience, coupled with the skills of his colleagues at NuFocus, now allows him to present an even broader-ranging array of solutions to challenges his clients face in assessing and handling their information technology needs, from too heavy reliance on print to incompatible or inefficient machinery.
Jacques, who is fluent in both official languages, is a skilled communicator who has presented at national and international conferences.
