Industrial engineering consultant Jean-Guy Cormier is a specialist in ISO-9001, ISO-14001, OHSAS 18001, CSA Z-1000, food safety including HACCP, ISO-22000 FSMS, FSSC 22000 and British Retail Consortium training and development.
He has a Bachelor of Applied Science, Industrial Engineer, a five-year degree from l’Universite de Moncton. A life-long learner, he has also successfully completed numerous courses to strengthen and improve his knowledge and understanding of the requirements of several management system standards, including ISO-9001, ISO-14001, OHSAS 18001 and ISO-22000. Some examples include production scheduling, food safety enhancement program, greenhouse gas validation, and verification training, WHMIS basic training and food microbiological control. This is extremely important to keep abreast of current changes in management system standards which are constantly evolving to meet market demands.
He is a Registered Professional Engineer with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of New Brunswick, a Registered Food Safety Lead Auditor with RABQSA, Milwaukee, WI USA, and a registered Quality, Environmental and Health and Safety Lead Auditors with QMISAI Global, Toronto, Ont. with international registrar, QMI SAI Global.
Implementing and Auditing Management Systems
As a professional consultant, trainer and auditor, Jean-Guy has successfully implemented and audited a number of management systems in a wide spectrum of industries including aquaculture and fishing, food products and beverages, wood products, pulp, paper and paper products, chemical products, basic metals and fabricated metal products, shipbuilding, aerospace, the service industries, engineering and laboratory services, and education and government services.
That work allowed him to build a broad base of knowledge through his extensive travels in Mexico, Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Guatemala, Chile, Brazil, Argentina, Japan, Western Europe and the United States.
Since 1993, he has developed, implemented and audited many management systems including quality, environmental, health and safety and food safety management systems and has many clients in North and Latin Americas.
Fluent in French and English and functional in Spanish, in the past 15 years Jean-Guy has organized more than 300 management system audits. He has taught these management system courses with the CSA Learning for 10 years and is now teaching these courses with SAI Global, Training Improvement Services Division.
